Chalet Tovel - Mountain Lake, in Non Valley. Around us not simple mountains, but the majestic Brenta Dolomites!
The group of BRENTA DOLOMITES belongs to the nine mountains groups recognized on the 26th of June 2009 as a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE site. The recognition rewards the famous “Pale Mountains” for the wonderful natural events, the beauty and the unique landscape, and finally for the features of the geological and geomorphological processes. The Dolomite genesis dates back to about 250 million of years ago. They were named after the French geologist Déodat de Dolomieu, who was the first man to study the features of the typical pinkish coloured rock of the mountains group, which he called “dolomia”. The other dolomites mountains groups that boast the recognition of the UNESCO are: Pelmo and Croda da Lago; Marmolada; the group of Pale di San Martino, the Dolomiti Settentrionali, the group Puez-Odle, the group formed by Sciliar, Catinaccio and Latemar and the Rio delle Foglie gorge. The mountain group of Brenta Dolomites belongs geographically to the Rhaetian Alps. This huge mountain range is part of the Brenta Adamello Nature Park. The Brenta Dolomites are a real paradise full of activities for mountain lovers: a total of eight peaks exceed 3000 metres, while many others exceed 2500 metres. No matter how familiar they are to us, every day we are fascinated by the unique landscapes that they gift us and we can’t wait to share this magic with you!
